    • DR Congo court rejects Fayulu’s election result challenge DR-Congo-court-rejects-Fayulu's-election-result-challenge

The Democratic Republic of Congo’s (DR Congo) Constitutional Court rejected runner-up Martin Fayulu’s challenge to presidential election results on Sunday. Judge Noel Kilomba said Fayulu, who launched the court action, had failed to prove that the results announced by the election commission were false. Fayulu said he was cheated out of victory in the December 30 presidential election, which was won by opposition leader Felix Tshisekedi. The new president is expected to be sworn in on January 22.
