The COVID-19 outbreak was first reported in the city of Wuhan, central China’s Hubei Province, in December 2019. Experts have attributed the outbreak to a novel coronavirus. Confirmed cases now exceed 591,000 globally.
Here is what we know so far:
India has have 724 confirmed cases, 17 deaths with 67 recorvered.
U.S. now leads the world in confirmed COVID-19 cases, with over 101,000 confirmed cases and over 1,500 deaths.
China: Chinese mainland reported 82,213 cases, including 649 imported from abroad. The death toll in the country now stands at 3,301.
Also, Wuhan will lift outbound travel restrictions starting April 8 after over two months of lockdown. China temporarily suspends entry of foreigners with valid visas and residence permits starting from March 28.
UK PM Boris Johnson and Health Secretary Matt Hancock are the latest political figures to test positive for the coronavirus.
2020 Tokyo Olympic Games have been postponed to 2021 because of the pandemic.
