Shimla: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is known for often breaking protocols and going an extra mile to meet his fans, surprised many when he made a sudden stop at a coffee shop in Shimla and interacted with his supporters there on Wednesday.

According to reports, the PM made a pit-stop at the famous Mall Road after attending the swearing-in ceremony of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur and his council of ministers.

PM Modi had stopped for a hot cup of coffee at the iconic Indian Coffee House while on the way to the helipad after attending the oath-taking ceremony of the new BJP government in Himachal Pradesh.

The Prime Minister also later took to Twitter and posted pictures of his pleasant interaction with people there at the coffee shop.

”In Shimla, relished coffee at the Indian Coffee House and reminisced old days. The coffee tastes as good as it did two decades ago when I would frequent Himachal for party work,” the tweet from the PM said.

PM Modi used to spend a lot of time at this coffee shop several years ago when he was posted in the state for party-related work.

The Prime Minister’s brief stop-over at the iconic Coffee shop soon caught the attention of those present there at that point in time. For many, the sight of a Prime Minister sipping coffee on the Mall Road was very pleasant and a moment to cherish forever.

They all went berserk to shake hands with their beloved Prime Minister and some of them even took selfies.

BJP leader Jairam Thakur, who won from Seraj constituency in recently concluded Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, today took oath as the new Chief Minister of the state.

His swearing-in ceremony in Shimla was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath among others.

As many as 13 chief ministers from different states attended the ceremony.
