8 October Abu Dhabi (UAE)- Flash Entertainment has been appointed as the Event Operations Partner by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) to deliver both the Fifa Club World Cup 2017-18 and the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019.
With less than 500 days to go until the first match of AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 kicks off in Abu Dhabi, preparations are already well underway across the Emirates.
A delegation from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) recently travelled to Abu Dhabi to complete a tour of three stadiums across the capital, and have praised the LOC’s commitment to maintaining world-class standards for the event.
“AFC is very pleased with the thorough preparation and progress made by the LOC to date, and we are very confident the 2019 competition will be a success on all levels. There is still much work to be done, but we are on schedule thanks to the local committee’s commitment, the experience and quality of delivery from Flash Entertainment and the determination of all involved. We’re confident of hitting all milestones to produce a tournament of truly world-class standards,” said Shin Mangil, AFC Competitions Division Director.
Returning for a second time to the Emirates, the expanded AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 kicks off in January 2019 and will see 51 matches played across the UAE, with the centrepiece opening and finale held at Zayed Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi. This will be the biggest in the tournament’s history with eight more teams taking part than in 2015 — 24 of Asia’s best sides will battle it out to be crowned champions of Asia.
“Our mission across our portfolio, whether through live music, cultural festivals or football matches, is to create truly unmissable moments. Football is unique in its ability to incite passion in anyone. Whether you’re a super-fan or have never seen a game in your life, there is something very special about being part of a stadium crowd watching a live match. Over the next three years, we’re proud to be bringing more of those moments to the UAE through the FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2017 and the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019,” said John Lickrish, CEO of Flash Entertainment.
