28 September Telengana(India): On the eve of Dasara and Deepawali, business establishments in the district are coming up with exiting offers to attract customers.
Since Dasara is the biggest festival in Telangana, people prefer wearing new clothes. Cashing in on this, outlets, including malls, are trying to attract as many customers as possible by putting up offer boards.
While local merchants are offering discount up to 50 per cent on every purchase, branded companies are offering only 2 per cent discount. A few outlets are giving various gifts.
Branded companies such as Arrow, Levis, Adidas, US Polo, and others are offering Rs 2,000 discount on purchases totaling to Rs 10,000 and Rs 1,000 on Rs 5,000. Siyaram’s is offering attractive gifts on the purchase worth between Rs 3,999 and Rs 7,999.
Going a step ahead, a local kidswear showroom, Kidzmall is giving away 10-gram and 5-gram silver coins to those who purchase goods worth Rs 4,999 and Rs 2,999, respectively.
On the other hand, a local outlet at Rajiv Chowk, is offering four T-shirts at 499, four shirts at 399 and cargo pants at Rs 599. Another shop in the market area is offering ‘two T-shirts’ on the purchase of three jeans pants worth Rs 2,999.
Speaking to Global Times News Today, a small readymade shop owner, Mahesh said comparing to the previous years, the business had drastically fallen down. People, especially youth, were showing interest to purchase clothes, gadgets and all other items online. They were able to get branded goods at cheaper prices. Small merchants were facing severe hardships. They were even unable to clear rents and pay salaries to workers, he observed. Besides cloths merchants, furniture showrooms and other business establishments are also giving attractive offers.
