  • Airbus, Royole to explore future of flexible electronics in aircraft


    Airbus China Innovation Centre (ACIC) and Royole Corporation will explore applications of flexible electronic technologies in aircraft development, according to Airbus China Thursday.

    In the latest strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by ACIC and Royole, both sides will jointly develop applications of flexible electronic technologies for aircraft and other commercial cooperations, including flexible displays and flexible cabin sensors.

    They will also work to develop applications for the cabin environment, aiming to improve cabin safety and energy conservation to create a more digitalized and personalized flight experience for passengers.

    Royole, a little-known startup with operations in Shenzhen and Fremont, California near Silicon Valley. got its reputation for its world’s first foldable smartphone debut in China.

    “China is a surging power of global innovation. Airbus is embracing the innovative talents and inspiration of China, which are crucial for our win-win cooperation,” said George Xu, CEO of Airbus China.

    Founded in 2012, Royole Corporation develops next-generation human-machine interface technologies and products including advanced flexible displays, flexible sensors, and smart devices.
